Don't Miss These 4th of July Events on Chicago's North Shore!

Summer is in full swing here on Chicago's North Shore and that means the Fourth of July is just around the corner! It's time for beach days, pool time, BBQs, and patriotic parades to celebrate our nation's birthday— And lucky for North Shore residents, there are dozens of events to choose from to do just that!

Below are upcoming 4th of July events to mark on your calendar:

Deerfield Fireworks Show
When: July 3, 2017; 5 PM to 10 PM
Where: Brickyards Park

Deerfield will host its own fireworks display on July 3! The gates open at 5 PM, with live music at 6 PM, flag raising and national anthem at 7 PM, and ending with the fireworks at dusk!

Winnetka Fourth of July Parade
When: July 4, 2017; 10 AM
Where: Parade begins at the intersection of Elm Street and Glendale Avenue

Support your local Winnetka organizations and join your neighbors in this patriotic parade! There will be orchestras, pipe bands, Dixieland bands, jugglers and of course, Uncle Sam on stilts! The parade will begin at the intersection of Elm Street and Glendale Avenue, head east through town, and end at the Village Green.

Winnetka Fourthfest
When: July 4, 2017; 6 PM
Where: Duke Childs Field

After the parade, there will be a series of events for the family at the Village Green, and later that night, the annual Fourthfest kicks off! With food, music, kids activities, and a fireworks display at 9 PM, this is the perfect ending to a fun-filled day!

Glencoe Fourth of July Celebration
When: July 4, 2017; 8 AM to 9 PM
Where: Lakefront Park

This FREE 4th of July event will include the Glencoe's Got Talent talent show at 12 PM at Kalk Park, parade at 2 PM at Central School, and live music, before the fireworks at 9 PM!

Highland Park 4th of July Parade
When: July 4, 2017; 10 AM
Where: Intersection of Laurel and St. Johns Avenues

This year's parade will begin at the intersection of Laurel and St. Johns Avenues, turning west on Central Avenue and continuing to Sunset Park. The children's bike and pet parade prior to the big Independence Day parade will begin at 9:30 AM.

Northbrook 4th of July
When: July 4, 2017; 7:30 AM to Dusk
Where: Techny Prairie Park and Fields

This year's festivities begin with the Liberty Loop 5K Run/Walk at Techny Prairie Park and Fields, before the Rotary Club's breakfast at Village Green Park from 7:30 AM to 11 AM. Next up is the family golf tournament at Sportsman's Country Club from 9 AM to Noon, the Mile-Long Parade at 2:30 PM covering Cherry/Western/Shermer/Meadow, and ending with fireworks at Meadowhill Park and Techny Prairie Park and Fields.

Glenview Fourth of July Parade
When: July 4, 2017; 11:15 AM
Where: Begins at Glenview Community Church, heading west on Glenview Road, ending before Glendale Road

Local kids ages 3-9 will lead the parade with their own bike parade! The bike parade route ends at Sheerer Road in the St. David's Episcopal Church parking lot.

Chicago’s North Shore 4th of July Celebrations

Chicago’s North Shore Communities Love the 4th of July!


Independence Day is only a couple weeks away, and many North Shore residents are starting to plan their festivities. While some prefer to remain in the comfort of their own North Shore home’s backyard and throw a barbecue, others can’t wait to get out to their North Shore community’s annual celebrations. Here’s what is going on this 4th of July across Chicago’s North Shore.


Deerfield

July 3rd & 4th
Deerfield Family Days will take place both days, with entertainment and fireworks at Brickyards Park at 9:15pm on July 3rd. On July 4th, Jewett Park will host a pancake breakfast along with activities that will include arts & crafts,  a gourmet food market, bike show, dog show, the rotary 10K race, a petting zoo, pony rides, a parade, a flower show and food concessions.

Evanston

July 4th
Evanston's 4th of July Parade will begin at 2pm and will start at Central Park on Central Street through to Ashland Avenue. The Twilight Concert will begin at 7:30pm, with Lakefront Fireworks starting at 9:15pm. The musical fireworks display will be launched from Clark Street Beach and can be viewed from any part of the lakefront area east of Downtown Evanston.


Glenview

July 4th
The celebration will begin with a children's decorated bike parade at 11:15am with the main parade starting at 11:20am. It will be kicking off at the intersection of Harlem and Glenview Road, heading south on Harlem, then marching west on Central before ending at Johns Park. At the Glenview Golf Club at 7:30pm, the Twilight Show will begin with a patriotic concert by the 100-piece North Shore Concert Band. The show ends with fireworks at dusk, synchronized to patriotic music.


Highland Park

July 4th
The festivities will begin with the Children's Bike & Pet Parade at 9:30am, followed by the Independence Parade at 10am. Held in Downtown Highland Park, the parade will be followed by Fourth Fest at Sunset Park featuring a fireworks display at dusk.


Northbrook

July 4th
A pancake breakfast will be held at Village Green Park beginning at 7am, featuring music and family games. The bike parade will begin at 2pm with the main parade following at 2:30pm. It will begin at Cherry and Western and end at the Village Green Park. Fireworks will take place at Meadowhill Park at dusk.


Winnetka

July 4th
The 4th of July parade will begin at 10am at Elm and Glendale. Activities begin on the Village Green at 11am with a children's flag parade and family races. The evening will conclude with Fourthfest at 6 pm at Duke Childs Field with the fireworks show begins at 9:15 p.m.

Celebrate the 4th on Chicago's North Shore!

Summer is in full swing and Chicago’s North Shore is showcasing a wide variety of events and festivals that highlight each communities’ unique atmosphere.  It’s hard to believe that June is nearly over and that the 4th of July celebration is just around the corner! 

As a North Shore Real Estate agent, it’s always fun for me to be able to tell those interested in moving to the North Shore about the great lifestyle that’s offered.  If you are relocating to Glencoe, Deerfield, Northbrook, Highland Park or Winnetka; you’ll want to visit this coming holiday to experience the vibrant community of each city.  For those of you who currently live in one of the beautiful homes along the North Shore; you’ll also want to be sure to take part in these upcoming 4th of July events!

Deerfield Family Days

Brickyards Park & Jewett Park, Deerfield

Tuesday & Wednesday, July 3 - 4

Tuesday: Noon - 9:15pm

Wednesday: 8am-5pm

- Don’t miss out on the 49th Annual Deerfield Family Days on July 3rd and 4th!  These fun-filled days offer a range of activities!   Fireworks will take place on July 3 at 9:15pm at Brickyards Park and are sure to impress!  On July 4th, kick your day off with a pancake breakfast and an arts and crafts show you can peruse throughout the day.  The Deerfield Rotary Club 10K/5K race/walk will begin at 8am and offers a chance for all fitness levels to be involved!  The rest of the day is filled with the beloved bike parade, petting zoo, pony rides, live entertainment and much more.  You'll enjoy this family friendly weekend in Deerfield! Glencoe 4th of July Celebration
Various Locations in Glencoe

Wednesday, July 4 from 8am to 10pm

- The Glencoe 4th of July Celebration will be extra special this year as it honors the Park District’s 100th Anniversary!  The day feature a 2 mile rotary fun run beginning at the train station at 8am, followed by the Art Fair on Village Green at 10am.  Children’s games and a carnival will fill the rest of the morning leading to the July 4th Village Parade at 2pm.  A variety of great activities will continue throughout the day, with the highlight being the fireworks display at 9pm on the Glencoe Beach!  View the entire schedule here or visit the Glencoe Park District website.

Northbrook 4th of July
Various Locations in Northbrook

Wednesday, July 4 from 7am to 9pm

- Kick of your 4th of July celebration in Northbrook with Pancakes in the Park!  This annual breakfast will take place in the Village Green Park from 7am to 11am.  During this time you’ll also be able to take part in family games, enjoy live music and watch the annual Police and Fire Department Softball Game.  The day will be filled with great activities, such as a bike parade and the parade at 2:30pm, and end with fireworks at 8:45pm at the Velodrome on Maple Ave.!  Don’t miss out!  Learn more by visiting the Northbrook July 4th website.

Enjoy the 4th of July along Chicago's North Shore!

Summer is in full swing here in Chicago’s North Shore and many of the communities are getting ready to celebrate our nation’s freedom this coming 4th of July! For many living in the North Shore, it’s a highlight of the season as friends and family gather together and enjoy local festivities!


I have enjoyed living and working as a real estate agent in the North Shore for over twenty years, and believe strongly that where your home is located is just as important as what it looks like. Finding a home in Chicago’s North Shore means not only finding a place to call home, but being surrounded by a great community in which you can be involved.

Glenview 4th of July Celebration


- On the beautiful grounds of the Glenview Park Golf Club, the twilight fireworks show begins with a patriotic concert by the 100-piece North Shore Concert Band. The show is highlighted by fireworks synchronized to patriotic music.

- The parade starts at 2 p.m. and runs along Central Street to Ryan Field at Ashland Avenue. Lakefront fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. Tune your radio to 90.5 FM

Times: Festivities begin at 8am, Fireworks begin at 9:15pm.

Where: Evanston Lakefront

Cost: Free

Northbrook 4th of July Celebration

From pancakes in the park, live music and family games, to a Police vs. Fire Department baseball game, a bike parade and fireworks; this all day celebration is one you won’t want to miss!


When: July 4, 2011

Where: Village Green & throughout Northbook

Cost: Free
