Get Involved in the Performing Arts on Chicago's North Shore!

Chicago’s North Shore has long been known for its dedication to the arts, especially the creative performing arts. Whether residents prefer to enjoy a performance from the audience or be a part of it all, this area is a hotbed of arts, culture and expression. There are many local theatres on Chicago’s North Shore to explore and get involved with. Just a few to start with include:

Adult and Children’s Community Theatre
Auditorium of the Community Recreation Center
3000 Glenview Rd., Wilmette

Wilmette’s very own community theatre offers two branches for those that enjoy being a part of the performing arts – An adult community theatre as well as one for children. Whether you’re someone that has a passion for the performing arts or you’re hoping to involve your children in a safe, creative community environment, Wilmette’s Park District is a great place to start. With auditions typically in the beginning of the year and performances in the spring, community theatre is a fun way to get involved in the community, meet new friends and immerse yourself in the arts – No matter what your experience level may be!

Writer’s Theatre
321 Park Ave., Glencoe

The Writer’s Theatre has long been a staple of the Chicago’s North Shore. Blending theatre with literary classics, performances offer creative interpretations of well-known work. General auditions for each season are typically held during spring of each year and are a great way to get involved in both the local community as well as the Chicago theatre scene. Whether you opt to catch a performance or two during the year or you’d prefer to get involved on stage or backstage, the Writer’s Theatre is one of the area’s top local theatres.

Northlight Theatre
9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie

A beautiful local theatre featuring a diverse array of performances, Skokie’s Northlight Theatre always has something in the works. From entertaining plays to special concerts, casting information can be found on the Actor’s Equity website. With an emphasis on spectacular sets, beautiful costumes and creative performances, there is always something cooking at the Northlight Theatre and it is a fantastic place to explore your acting bug!

With so many wonderful opportunities to explore the arts, it’s no wonder that North Shore real estate is so desirable! Offering safe, convenient communities, a tangible appreciation of arts and culture as well as a high standard for quality of life, I encourage all those interested in Chicago’s North Shore to contact me. As a longtime North Shore Realtor, I’ve assisted many families and individuals in finding the right home and community for their needs.

Chicago's North Shore has long had a reputation for being a hotbed of culture, artistic appreciation and intellectual engagement. As a longtime North Shore Realtor, I can attest to the sense of community that the many cities that make up Chicago's North Shore offer due to their focus on arts, culture, entertainment, activities and events. While the nearby City of Chicago offers dozens of great museums, the North Shore features quite a few as well! Here are just a few of the popular museum hotspots throughout the area:

Featuring artifacts, photos, documents and other items that have been transported through the generations, a visit to the Illinois Holocaust Museum is an educational and powerful experience that is not to be missed!

Experience the Arts in Highland Park This Weekend!

One of the things I thoroughly enjoy about being a North Shore Real Estate agent is being a part of the vibrant communities throughout the area.  The North Shore cities of Winnetka, Deerfield, Northbrook, Highland Park and Glencoe are committed to supporting local businesses, schools and residents, and have regular events that highlight the unique aspects of their community.
Throughout my years of experience in the North Shore Real Estate market, I know that buyers are not only looking for a beautiful North Shore home, but for the North Shore lifestyle.  Aware of this, I always try to get to know my clients and what they’re looking for in a community.  I will then give them insight in to each of the North Shore areas so that they’re able to get a vision for what life is like and can choose which city best fits their lifestyle.
For those of you who are considering moving to the North Shore and love the arts; Highland Park may be the community for you!  The Art Center of Highland Park has been a staple artistic outlet for the past 50 years and has encouraged the growth of young artists.  This non-profit provides classes for residents interested in art no matter what their level of experience, as well as regular art exhibits for everyone to enjoy.
If Highland Park sounds like a place you’d like to call home, or you currently live in Highland Park and are looking for something to do this weekend; you won’t want to miss two new exhibits opening at The Art Center of Highland Park!
Arts of Nepal Exhibit- Opening Reception

KIN Photography Exhibit- Opening Reception
The Art Center Highland Park
1957 Sheridan Rd, Highland Park
www.theartcenterhp.org

Friday, March 2 from 6:30pm-9pm
- This unique photography exhibit showcases works that relate to the idea of Kin: someone or something of the same or similar kind.  KIN presents photographs that depict the ties of family, neighborhood, sports and music within the youth culture.  You won’t want to miss this culturally relevant exhibit which will be at The Art Center through April 5.  Learn more at The Art Center of Highland Park’s website.
If you’re interested in moving to The North Shore and looking at Highland Park; I hope you’re able to take advantage of these events this weekend!  This can be a great way to get a sense of the Highland Park community and allow you to mingle with its residents.
I would love the opportunity to talk with you if you’ve been considering buying a North Shore home.  There are many stunning homes currently on the North Shore Real Estate market that I would be happy to show you!  If you have further questions about living in the North Shore or are ready to get started in your home search; feel free to contact me today!
